About Carmignano Mill
Located in the Veneto region of northern Italy, Carmignano Mill dates back to 1877 – so it’s no surprise that it has established a strong tradition of producing specialty papers. Between 1932 and 1982, for example, the mill produced electro-counting cards for the Central Statistical Institute. It has also made papers for transatlantic submarine cable insulation and, since 2010, has manufactured innovative papers for the food industry. In 2015, production began on dye sublimation papers for use in the textile industry and, from 2024, for the medical industry too. In the same year, the mill began producing functional and barrier paper grades for flexible packaging.
In 2019 the Digital Solutions Centre was established, researching innovations in fields such as sublimation printing and colour profiling.
The mill is also active in the developing field of micro-fibrillated cellulose (MFC), with a brand-new plant producing MFC materials for the mill itself as well as for use in homecare and cosmetics products.
At the heart of Carmignano Mill lies a relentless spirit of innovation and quality – something embedded in our employee culture. It’s this culture that has powered the mill’s successful entry into so many different markets, from dye sublimation and flexible packaging papers to medical applications. We can’t wait to see what’s next…
