HW Reclaimer Operator

We’re on the lookout for an experienced HW Reclaimer Operator to ensuring the smooth running of the HW Reclaimer, addressing all non-conformances, breakdowns, problem solving of the HW Stacking, Reclaiming and feeding of hardwood chips to the digesters.

As a HW Reclaimer Operator, you will be responsible for:

Plant Operations

• Oversee the start-up and shutdown of the plant.
• Ensure the plant operates at the required rate and meets quality specifications.
• Regularly inspect auxiliary equipment during shifts.
• Perform routine inspections, clean as necessary, and report any defects.
• Remove blockages and foreign materials from conveyor systems.
• Identify abnormal or emergency plant conditions and take corrective actions per standard procedures (BOP).
• Isolate plant components as needed (Authorized Operator).
• Participate in housekeeping activities with a focus on assigned areas.

Communication

• Report abnormal conditions and breakdowns to the Shift Superintendent.
• Collaborate with Maintenance personnel regarding maintenance tasks.
• Maintain regular communication with the HW Operator regarding plant operations.

SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality)

• Achieve and maintain BBS (Behavior-Based Safety) targets.
• Report unsafe conditions promptly.
• Understand and comply with the SHEQ requirements of the role.
• Minimize environmental impact through proper procedures.
• Attain and maintain 5S standards in the area of responsibility.

Resource Utilization

• Coach and train new employees in the assigned area.
• Act in a higher-level position when required and appropriately licensed.
• Engage in self-development through a Personal Development Plan (PDP).

Administration

• Manage notifications in SAP (PM Operator).
• Complete the daily logbook and check sheets accurately.
• Ensure the work permit book is completed as required.
• Record and report all relevant plant deviations and notifications

Requirements:

• Matric with Maths and Science.
• N3 Pulp & Paper will be advantages .
• Experience in a Production Environment will be advantages.
